Four localities in East China's Zhejiang province were recently selected as pilot regions for promoting the digitalization of rural areas in China.

The list was jointly released by the office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the State Administration of Market Regulations, and the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation.

The four Zhejiang localities are Lin'an district in Hangzhou, Cixi city in Ningbo, Deqing county in Huzhou, and Pinghu city in Jiaxing. They have all adopted digital technologies in the governance of rural areas, serving as examples for other places in the country.
