Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province has made strides in urban development in recent years.
The city's transportation system improved significantly with the opening of new transportation infrastructure, making travel more convenient.
The infrastructure includes bridges, expressways, and metro lines. For instance, Sanguantang Bridge, which connects Jiangnan Road in the south with Zhongguan West Road in the north, opened to traffic in late September.
The bridge, spanning 3.3 kilometers over the Yongjiang River, has greatly reduced travel time between the city's high-tech new area, Eastern New City, and Zhenhai district.
The city has also made great efforts in constructing facilities for sports, recreation, and entertainment. By the end of October, many new facilities had been erected along Yaojiang River, Fenghuajiang River, and Yongjiang River, covering a total area of about 250 hectares.
Local authorities have also explored the utilization of idle land, such as space under the city's overpasses, to create more exercise venues and have built numerous greenways to improve people's living environment.
By the end of October, the total length of greenways in Ningbo had exceeded 1,300 kilometers. Among them, three have been designated the most beautiful greenways in Zhejiang.
