Three new cultural and tourism complexes will soon be opened in Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province, according to local media reports.

The Haichang cultural and tourist complex, with an investment of about 5 billion yuan ($760 million), is set to be established in the Ningbo Bay New District, under an agreement reached on Nov 30.

The complex wil be a marine-themed leisure vacation destination. After its completion, it is expected to receive over three million visitors every year, creating more than 2,000 jobs.

On the same day, a tourism resort town themed on the Chinese cartoon series Boonie Bears broke ground in the city. At a cost of 3.26 billion yuan, the town is set to cater to both kids and adults.

The Boonie Bears is a popular Chinese cartoon series shown on many Chinese websites and television stations. The series features two bears, Briar and Bramble, who try to stop Logger Vick from destroying their forest home.

Another large-scale and high-tech theme park, funded by the Shenzhen-based Huaqiang Group, following Ningbo Fangte Oriental Heritage, will open in 2021. The new theme park will create a more exciting and immersive experience for visitors.
