Grapefruit harvest season recently began in Lianglong town, Yuyao city, Ningbo, according to local media reports.
Grapefruit produced in the town are smaller than the common pomelos on the market, but contain more juice, according to He Dafeng, a farmer in Hengkantou village, Lianglong town.
This is the third year that He has grown grapefruit. The grapefruit yield per tree has reached 15-20 kilograms, with more expected to come next year, according to He.
In recent years, Lianglong town has been actively developing its fruit plantation sector, focusing on a different fruit each season: cherries and mulberries in spring, blueberries and bayberries in summer, kiwifruit and persimmons in autumn and grapefruit in winter.
