Places worth visiting along subway line 4

Line 4 of the subway in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province was put into operation on Dec 23.

The 35.95-km-long subway line traverses the downtown area of Ningbo at a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour, stopping at a total of 25 stations between Cicheng town and Dongqian Lake. 

The following are some scenic spots along the newly opened subway line you could visit:

Cicheng Ancient Town 

Cicheng Ancient Town is a national 4A scenic attraction located in Cicheng town, Jiangbei district and covers a total area of 2.17 square kilometers.

Visitors to the ancient town can view architectures from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and savor unique snacks including Cicheng Niangao, a steamed glutinous rice cake.

Tianyi Pavilion & Moon Lake

Built in 1561, Tianyi Pavilion is the oldest private library still in existence in China. The 26,000-square-meter library has amassed a collection of 300,000 books, 80,000 of which are considered rare.

Situated in downtown Ningbo, Moon Lake is surrounded by a slew of restaurants – many of which overlook the lake. Located in the midst of the bustling city, Moon Lake offers an ideal place for one to slow down and relax.

Nantang Old Street

With a history of more than 500 years, Nantang Old Street is a place filled with trinkets and delicious traditional cuisine. The former residence of Yuan Muzhi, a film master, is also situated on the street.

Dongqian Lake

Dongqian Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in Zhejiang province, and is three times the size of West Lake in Hangzhou. Here, visitors can admire enchanting lakeside views.
