Online retail sales in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province grew 10.9 percent year-on-year to 251.2 billion yuan ($38.65 billion) in 2020, ranking third in the province.
Ningbo's Cixi city came in eighth place among all counties and districts across Zhejiang, with online retail sales exceeding 77.66 billion yuan.
In the past year, total online retail sales in Zhejiang hit 2.26 trillion yuan, according to the Ningbo municipal bureau of commerce.
The top three categories of goods in terms of sales volume in Zhejiang were clothing, shoes and bags, home appliance and decorations, and digital products, accounting for 32.4 percent, 19.7 percent and 14.7 percent of the province's total respectively.
In 2020, cross-border online retail exports in the province amounted to 105.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 31.6 percent, according to data from third-party cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and eBay.
Among them, Jinhua, Hangzhou and Ningbo took the top three places, accounting for 46.4 percent, 23.1 percent and 11.7 percent of the province's total respectively.
