Performers from rural cultural halls across Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province held a grassroots Spring Festival gala on Jan 21 which was broadcasted live online.

The performances featured singing, dancing, opera, sketches and recitations.

As of the end of 2020, Ningbo has 2,237 cultural halls in its rural areas, among which 157 are rated as provincial 5A ones while 400 are of the provincial 4A level.

Since 2013, a total of 49,500 cultural activities have been held in the cultural halls, with some 6.15 million people participating in these events.
