The fifth session of the 15th Ningbo Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) came to an end in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Feb 22.
Peng Jiaxue, Party chief of Ningbo, addressed the closing ceremony attended by 454 members, in which he praised the wisdom contributed by political advisers in boosting the city's development in the past year.
He said that this year marks the centenary of the CPC's founding and the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) period, calling for more efforts to construct the city into a modern coastal metropolis.
Xu Yuning, chairman of the 15th Ningbo Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, called on members to pool their wisdom and strength from all aspects to fuel the city's drive to be a model city in the province's "Important Window" campaign, which aims to turn the province into a shining example of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
Statistics show that the city's political advisory body received a total of 563 proposals, among which 86.3 percent were submitted by political advisers.
The proposals were primarily involved in fields spanning the economy, urban construction, ecology and resources, public services, as well as agriculture and rural areas.
