Zhejiang Pharmaceutical College to be upgraded

Zhejiang Pharmaceutical College, a junior college located in Ningbo, will be upgraded into a public university enrolling undergraduates, after merging with the Donghai Science and Technology College of Zhejiang Ocean University in Zhoushan, according to a notice published on the official website of the Zhejiang provincial department of education.
The newly established school, tentatively retaining the name of Zhejiang Pharmaceutical College, will span 933 mu (62.2 hectares) and have a total of 589 faculties.
It will also house teaching and research equipment worth 160 million yuan ($24.62 million), as well as 1.05 million books.
Approved by the Ministry of Education, Zhejiang Pharmaceutical College is the first and only medical junior college in the national food and drug supervision and administration system.
It currently has two campuses situated in Ningbo's Fenghua and Yinzhou districts. The college now has seven schools and 20 majors, including seven national level ones.
It recruits students from 19 provinces and autonomous regions across the country, with the employment rate of its graduates exceeding 97 percent in the past few years.
