A village in Ningbo's Ninghai county made 30,000 tangbao, a steamed dumpling filled with minced meat and gravy, on Feb 25 to celebrate the upcoming Lantern Festival, which takes place the next day.
In a newly built cultural hall, more than 800 residents from Xiafengcha village, Yuelong sub-district savored the traditional snacks that they had made themselves.
The village has undergone tremendous changes in recent years, with dilapidated houses demolished and new roads and parks being built.
Factories have also been constructed and leased to companies, generating an annual collective income of more than 900,000 yuan ($138,461).
In addition, a cultural hall that took 9 million yuan to build has become a popular place for residents to participate in cultural activities.
