The sailing contests of the 14th National Games are slated to be held at the Asian Games Sailing Center in the coastal county of Xiangshan in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province in September.

The center, which is the venue for the sailing contests of the 19th Asian Games in 2022, is expected to be completed by the end of March before being approved for operations in June.

With a total investment of roughly 760 million yuan ($116.92 million), the center will be the first sports venue in Zhejiang qualified to host international A-level sports competitions.

Damu Bay, where the center is located, has a year-round consistent wind speed, a mild climate and an annual average temperature of 16.3 degrees Celsius, making it a suitable place for sailing competitions and training throughout the year.

The sailing contests of the 14th National Games will feature about 500 athletes from 20 teams across the country.
