28 Ningbo businesspeople listed among Forbes World's Billionaires List

A total of 28 businesspeople from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province made the Forbes World's Billionaires List released on April 6, an increase of eight over the previous year.

The 28 entrepreneurs are either from Ningbo or have set up corporate headquarters in the city.

NetEase founder and CEO Ding Lei retained his position as the richest person in the city with a personal fortune of $33 billion. He was ranked 45th in the world.

Ding is followed by Ma Jianrong, president of Shenzhou International Group, with wealth of $12.5 billion, and Yu Renrong, president of Shanghai Will Semiconductor Co Ltd, at $12.3 billion.

The combined wealth of the listed billionaires from Ningbo stood at $128.2 billion.

The number of billionaires on Forbes' 35th annual ranking expanded to an unprecedented 2,755, up 660 from the previous year. Among them, 493 were newcomers.

Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of e-commerce giant Amazon, topped the Forbes ranking of the world's richest people for the fourth consecutive year with wealth of $177 billion, while Tesla chief executive Elon Musk came in second at $151 billion.

Zhong Shanshan, founder of Chinese bottled water giant Nongfu Spring, was the richest person in China. He was ranked 13th in the world with a net worth at $68.9 billion.
