Ningbo kick offs month-long campaign to boost consumption

A month-long campaign aimed at boosting consumption was launched in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on April 28.

The campaign will include a total of 117 promotional events with the participation of more than 10,000 enterprises.

A consumption map detailing the information of 155 shops recommended by local residents was also unveiled at the launch ceremony.

This year, 221 brands have set up their first outposts in Ningbo, among which 13 are the first in China and 71 are the first in Zhejiang.

These brands primarily cover sectors including high-end retail, catering, clothes, parent-child shopping, fashion, leisure sports, entertainment, as well as beauty, makeup, and skin care.

Official data shows that the total retail sales of social consumer goods in Ningbo reached 105.06 billion yuan (16.16 billion) in the first quarter of the year, up 30.3 percent year-on-year, 3.8 percent higher than the provincial average growth rate.

Both the amount and growth rate ranked second in the province.
