Diplomats from Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) have joined in a livestreaming activity while attending the second China-CEEC Expo, held in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on June 8-10.

Representatives of Slovakia, Latvia, Hungary, Greece, Bulgaria and Poland took to the livestreaming room to recommend quality global commodities and promote their countries' special products on two major Chinese video platforms – Taobao and Douyin.

Online audience were attracted by the bright laughter of Dzsenifer Halmai, commercial consul of the Consulate General of Hungary in Shanghai, during her interaction with the anchor.

"This is actually my first time taking part in a livestreaming. I thought I would be nervous, now I can't believe it makes me feel so relaxed," said Halmai, who shared typical Hungarian food with online viewers. "I have heard of the livestreaming in China, and I am so proud to be given this opportunity to promote products made in my country," she added, in fluent Chinese.

For Kostadin Djatev, commercial consul of the Consulate General of Bulgaria in Shanghai, this wasn't his first time recommending goods online. During the same period last year, he brought his whole family to the livestreaming room of the first CEEC Expo, advertising Bulgarian specialties and leaving a deep impression on the Chinese audience.

Diplomats not only introduced their top domestic products, but also amused viewers with their culture and conventions, triggering a new purchasing wave in China for CEE products.
