Those looking for a place to escape the summer heat should consider visiting Luting township in Yuyao, a county-level city in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province.
Situated in the eastern part of Siming Mountain, the township is renowned for its fresh air and unspoiled natural views.
The township administering 12 villages has a forest coverage ratio of 85 percent. The Xiaolu River crosses the township and flows into the Jiaokou reservoir, which is a significant water source of Ningbo.
The level of negative oxygen ions in the area exceeds 8,500 per cubic centimeter.
It is a popular choice of visitors to mount the Shifengyan sightseeing platform to admire the sunrise.
Strolling along the Xiaolu River has also become a popular activity among visitors to the township.
Facilities like greenways winding along rivers, woods, and tea plantations have been developed to increase the township's tourism appeal.
Official data show that the township attracted a total of 442,000 visitors in 2019, generating 84.25 million yuan ($12.96 million) in revenue. Both the number of tourists and tourist revenue were over 10 percent higher than that in the previous year.
