Xiayan village a hidden gem in Ningbo

Despite rarely being included in traveler's list of destinations, Xiayan village in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province is a hidden gem that visitors shouldn't miss.
Located in Haishu district of Ningbo, the village is 20 kilometers away or a 40-minute-plus-drive from Shilin village, a renowned rural scenic attraction in Yuyao.
Sitting in the middle of Zhougongzhai Reservoir and Jiaokou Reservoir, the village is an ideal place to admire natural scenery.
Some camphor trees at the entrance of the village are over 500 years old. The shade is an excellent place to enjoy the cool breeze.
A creek winding across the village is crystal clear, making it possible for visitors to catch the sight of some shrimp playing around on stones.
Stalls are erected along the creek by villagers, offering visitors a place to rest and enjoy refreshments.
It is also recommended for visitors to enjoy the local captivating views on a boat.
