Ningbo sets ambitious goals for training skilled workers

Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province recently announced that it is aiming to expand the pool of skilled workers in the city to 2.2 million by 2025.

In addition, the highly skilled worker population should exceed 780,000 by the same year.

According to a document recently released by the local government, the city will provide more vocational training and facilitate the construction of training platforms.

It will also promote the reform of the vocational education system, improve the treatment of highly skilled workers and create vocational skill level certifications.

Each year, the city plans to bring in no less than 1,000 highly skilled workers who are urgently needed for certain roles, according to the document.
