A flight route linking Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province and Yining in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region is scheduled to be launched on Aug 1, according to local media reports.

The flight operated by Spring Airlines will cover nearly 4,000 kilometers, becoming the longest domestic air route opened by Ningbo.

Round trip flights will be carried out on every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. The plane takes off at 7:20 am from Ningbo and arrives in Yining at 3:40 pm. The return flight departs at 4:25 pm from Yining and reaches Ningbo at 11:40 pm.

Located in the northwest of Xinjiang, Yining is the capital city of Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture. The city is home to numeorus tourist attractions, such as Former Residence of Ili General, Ili Grasslands, and Ili River.

In addition, the city has about 10,000 acres of orchards, with the air full of fragrance when the flowers bloom or the fruit harvest season arrives.

This is the fourth air route to Xinjiang that Ningbo has opened, following the ones to Urumqi, Kucha, and Karamay. As a transit stop of the Ningbo-Yining route, Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, is also a new option for local visitors travelling to the nation's northwestern areas.
