More than 1,000 kilograms of honey peaches produced in Ningbo's Fenghua district was exported to Hong Kong by air on July 13.

The peaches, which are under the "Gu Dasao" brand, was the first batch of fresh peaches exported from the city this year. The time from picking to arrival was less than 24 hours.

It is the sixth consecutive year that Ningbo has exported fresh peaches to Hong Kong.

This year, the quality of Fenghua honey peaches is better than previous years due to higher temperatures and less precipitation, experts say.

Local customs have rolled out a string of measures to support exports of the fruit. Enterprises are guided to formulate standardized quality management systems and are allowed to apply for custom clearance online ahead of time.

It is expected that honey peach exports in Ningbo will enter their peak period in the second half of this month.

Honey peaches have been grown in Fenghua for more than 2,000 years, which is why the district has been dubbed the "hometown of honey peaches in China". The fruit grown in the district is renowned for its strong fragrance, as well as its soft, juicy, and sweet taste.
