A car boot sale was held at the Huangguan Garden residential area in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on July 19, attracting many of the city's residents. 

After nightfall, residents brought their cars to Huangguan Garden and turned their boots into stands which were decorated with lights and colorful balloons. Various goods were displayed on the tables, including food, drinks and household goods.

Recreational activities and public services were also provided by participants, including street art performances, touhu games (pitch-pot game in which participants throw arrows into a pot), hand-painted-fan-making, free dental care and garment cutting.

Organized by the property management company of Huangguan Garden and its residents, the car boot sale, entitled "Happy Neighborhood-Creative Market", gives people the chance to get to know their neighbors better.

Cat boot sales originated in the United Kingdom, where people would come together to sell surplus household goods from the boots of their cars.
