Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province launched its third round of nucleic acid tests in Beilun district's two sub-districts – Meishan and Baifeng.
Samples will be collected from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on Aug 17. All residents from the aforementioned sub-districts are required to undergo the test.
There are six sample collection sites in Meishan sub-district and 15 such facilities in Baifeng sub-district.
People can register for the nucleic acid tests by scanning the blue code, while those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan can make a reservation by scanning the orange code.
While queuing for the test, people must wear surgical masks and maintain social distancing of at least a meter.
Elderly residents and people with mobility problems should let their communities know if they are unable to travel to the site for the test. Infants need to be tested too, and parents with children that are unable to take the test must inform their communites as well.
This third round of nucleic acid tests is a normal test carried out according to the epidemic prevention and control requirements.
Those who fail to take the tests in time and cause the spread of the virus will have to bear the legal ramifications.
As of 3:00 am on Aug 15, two rounds of nucleic acid tests in Beilun district had been completed. All tests returned negative.
The tests were carried out after a worker in Meishan Port in Beilun district tested positive for COVID-19 during routine nucleic acid testing on Aug 11.
The worker was sent to a designated hospital for further medical treatment and his close contacts have all been quarantined. The relevant venues have also been closed for disinfection.
