37% of Ningbo minors receive first dose of COVID-19 vaccine
More than 150,000 people aged 12 to 17, or 37.24 percent of minors from Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province had received the first doze of COVID-19 vaccine as of Aug 16.
The city launched COVID-19 vaccinations for children aged 12 to 17 on August 1. Children in this age range can receive their first jabs with the company of their parent or guardian.
They are required to show their travel history codes and health codes, wear face masks, and have their temperatures taken before the vaccinations.
They should also maintain a social distance of at least one meter from other people.
The city's hospitals have arranged special sessions for students by coordinating with schools.
On Aug 17, Yinzhou People's Hospital administered vaccines for more than 1,100 students in Ningbo LHL High School.
For children who come from other places to Ningbo during the summer vacation period, they can go to nearby designated vaccination sites to get vaccinated.
School students aged 15 to 17 from the city's Xiangshan county are expected to complete their full COVID-19 vaccination regimen before the end of this month, local health authorities said.
