Ningbo to promote construction of 753 major projects

Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province recently announced that it will promote the construction of 753 major investment projects during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) period.
The projects, with a combined investment value of 3.04 trillion yuan ($467.7 billion), primarily involve fields including innovation, modern industries, transportation, environmental protection, and people's livelihoods.
The city will strive to complete investments worth 1.7 trillion yuan during the five-year period.
In terms of innovation, it will promote the construction of 15 high-end innovation platforms including the Yongjiang Lab and the Ningbo Institute of Materials of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Hangzhou Bay.
In addition, 340 out of the 753 projects are related to modern industries such as digital economy, life sciences and health, new materials, green petrochemicals, automobiles, as well as high-end equipment.
Two examples of these projects are the chipset plant funded by Forehope Electronic (Ningbo) Co Ltd, a company specializing in high-end IC packaging and testing, and the Ningbo International Commercial Space Launch Center.
Eighty projects involve the construction of transportation facilities like railways, metro lines, and ports. The five container berths in the Ningbo Meishan Bonded Port Area will be built within five years, as will the fourth phase of the Ningbo Lishe International Airport expansion.
Ninety-seven projects focus on environmental conservation, including a hydraulic power plant and a hydrogen industrial base, while the others are facilities related to public service in culture, education, sports, healthcare, social welfare and emergency security.
