Consumption booms in Ningbo during holiday

Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province saw a surge in consumption during the National Day holiday, official statistics from the Ningbo municipal bureau of commerce show.
The revenue of 32 surveyed enterprises, including 10 shopping malls and 10 supermarkets as well as all cinemas in the city, amounted to 662 million yuan ($101.85 million) from Sept 30 to Oct 6.
The figure is 15 percent higher than the same period in 2019.
Having dinner with family or friends was among the most popular activities among local residents during the holiday. The revenue of the catering units in commercial complexes in Ningbo's Yinzhou district was two to three times higher than before the holiday.
In addition, the 10 surveyed shopping malls from the city generated 468 million yuan in sales, up 4 percent year-on-year and 29.2 percent compared with 2019.
From Sept 30 to Oct 6, the total turnover of cinemas from Ningbo reached 59.76 million yuan, a 42.2 percent year-on-year increase, while the number of moviegoers reached 1.24 million, up 15.2 percent year-on-year.
