Ningbo launched a new direct sales model this month to help sell agriproducts from Sichuan's Liangshan Yi autonomous prefecture.

On Nov 9, Wang Hui, a Ningbo resident, added agriproducts from Liangshan to her shopping list on the "Yonggonghui" app, an online shopping platform aimed at workers in Ningbo. Some of the products had already been transported from Liangshan to Ningbo.

"Due to Liangshan's remote location, we used to visit the nearby cities of Ya'an and Chengdu in Sichuan and would spend more than half a month waiting for the products to arrive," said Wang Cheng, a truck driver.

But things changed after the new direct sales model was launched by Ningbo this month.

Ningbo is helping Liangshan build warehouses to store local agriproducts. So far, 12 warehouses have been built across the prefecture.

These products will be directly transported to a 25,000-square-meter warehouse in Ningbo, some of which will be sold through online platforms while others will be sent to designated shops in the city.

Due to the new model, the transportation time and cost of products from Liangshan have been reduced, and it is much more convenient for Ningbo residents to buy the products at lower prices.
