With the arrival of winter, the Ningbo government and residents have started to provide various warm services for outdoor workers in the city.
The Ningbo government is currently building Outdoor Workers' Stops that offer food, drinks and a place to rest for outdoor workers such as sanitation workers and delivery drivers. It plans to build more than 150 stops. To date, 100 stops have been built around the city.
Volunteers also launched a mini program on WeChat, which includes a map showing the locations of the stops to help workers locate stops nearby.
A porridge shop in Wenchang Community, Haishu district has been offering breakfast to sanitation workers and elderly residents in the community for six years. A big breakfast is 1 yuan ($0.15), which includes a bowl of porridge, two baozi (steamed stuffed buns), an egg and an unlimited supply of pickles.
Zhou Fubo, a restaurant owner in Ningbo, has been offering free cold herbal tea to outdoor workers every summer since 2012. Recently, she changed her herbal tea booth into a ginger tea booth and offers free warm drinks from 8 am to 12 pm every day.
