A group of foreigners learned how to make paper-cut window decorations in the Yulan residential community in Ningbo's Beilun district on Jan 19 to mark the upcoming Spring Festival.

The participants were teachers from Access International Academy Ningbo in Beilun who have decided to stay put in the district during the holiday.

Zhang Qipei, a paper cutting master, was invited to conduct the session. The group also made greeting cards with blessings written in English and Chinese.

"Paper cutting is fun. It makes me feel like I'm a child again. This will be my second Spring Festival in China and I'm looking forward to the beautiful fireworks and strong reunion atmosphere," said the principal of Access International Academy Ningbo.

Wu Xiaohong, party secretary of Yulan residential community, said that the hosting of such an event allows foreigners in the community to experience interesting aspects of Chinese culture and the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year.
