The China-Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Expo provides an access point for products from Montenegro to enter the Chinese market.

Bao Shunqing, Counselor of the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy to Montenegro, made the comment when he attended the online pre-expo roadshow of the Third China-CEEC Expo on March 17.

Bao recalled, "at the China-CEEC Summit, which was held last February, a plan was put forward that China would import commodities worth over $170 billion from CEEC over the next five years. This provides opportunities for CEEC to boost exports to China."

Bao expressed hope that companies from Montenegro would make full use of incentives provided by the China-CEEC Expo to introduce more competitive products into the Chinese market.

Milica Markovic, founder of the Montenegro-China Business Alliance, also participated in the event.

Markovic told Ningbo Daily that cultural and trade communication play an important role in win-win development for the two countries, and the expo helps with this.

Though Markovic will not participate in the offline expo this year due to COVID-19, she will attend the online activities and says she is willing to promote the event in Montenegro.

She also said she is confident that the alliance will promote cooperation between the two countries.

Preparations are being made for the Third China-CEEC Expo, which will be held in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province this year. The first pre-roadshow of the expo was held online by the Ningbo authorities and Montenegro.

"Imports from Montenegro to Ningbo have increased rapidly since the exhibition hall of Montenegro was established in Ningbo in 2017," said Zhang Yadong, director of the Ningbo CEEC Exhibition and Cooperation Promotion Center, "Over the past five years, the value of goods imported from Montenegro has increased at an average rate of 88.5 percent annually."

"That's why we chose Montenegro to be our first roadshow station," stressed Zhang.
