Liangnong town has taken on a new look in recent years thanks to a campaign launched by local authorities to promote land reclamation and ecological restoration.
The campaign has seen the town in the county-level of Yuyao in Ningbo shut down over 60 polluting companies and shift its development focus to tourism and business training sectors.
In addition, the local government has stepped up afforestation efforts, increasing its forestation rate to 72 percent.
Liangnong welcomes over 1.65 million tourists and 30-plus business trainees every year, official data show.
Authorities have set the target of developing the town, which used to be a revolutionary base, into a national model in the pursuit of common prosperity.
