Some early-maturing varieties of honey peaches produced in Ningbo's Fenghua district recently became ripe for the picking.
According to Luo Leixin, a farmer in Yunxi village, Xiaowangmiao sub-district, peach farmers have already received many orders from supermarkets and stores.
Fenghua has been growing honey peaches for more than 2,000 years, and this is why the district has been dubbed the "hometown of honey peaches in China". The fruit grown in the district is renowned for its strong fragrance, as well as its soft, juicy, and sweet taste.
This year, the fruit's planting area in Fenghua spans more than 50,000 mu (3,333 hectares), according to official statistics.
