A livestream showing an internet celebrity touring Qiantong Ancient Town in Ningbo's Ninghai county went viral on social media platforms overseas on Aug 24.

The livestream was hosted by Lyu Qianqian, an internet influencer with over 1 million followers on Facebook, and had attracted more than 100,000 viewers in an hour.

During the visit, Lyu, who is a presenter at China Global Television Network (CGTN), showcased some of the town's traditional crafts and delicacies.

Qiantong Ancient Town is a national 4A scenic spot and is the only ancient town known for Confucian culture in eastern Zhejiang.

The history of dragon and lion dances in Qiantong can be traced back to the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1736-95). The town has been designated a provincial inheritance and education base for dragon and lion dances.
