Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province has sent out 43 delegations made up of representatives from local enterprises to 12 other provinces, including Anhui, Jiangxi, and Yunan, to recruit workers starting from Jan 28, according to its human resources authorities.

The effort is part of the city's latest hiring campaign to draw migrant workers, as companies expect rising factory orders and booming production in the wake of the Spring Festival holiday, which ended on Jan 27.

More than 30,000 vacancies are expected to be offered by Ningbo amid the recruitment drive.

A job fair, which was staged by the city in Puyang, Henan province, attracted more than 5,000 people, more than 100 of whom reached tentative agreements with the companies.

The city has prepared a gift bag containing antivirus supplies like disinfectants and face masks for each jobseeker to the city.

Those who haven't found jobs can by scanning the QR code in the bag explore employment opportunities via the online recruitment platform backed by the local government.

A survey polling 300 local companies estimates that 84.9 percent of employees will return to work after the Spring Festival holiday, 5.6 percentage points higher than last year, while the figure for non-local workers stands at 77.4 percent, an uptick of 4.3 percentage points compared with the previous year.
