MSC Irina, the world's largest container ship, berthed at Ningbo Zhoushan Port, one of the world's busiest ports, on April 2.

MSC Irina was built by Chinese shipbuilder Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Group in 2023 and delivered to Mediterranean Shipping Company, the Swiss-based container giant, in early March. The ship is the largest container vessel in the world, measuring 399.99 meters in length with a 61.3-meter beam. It has a container capacity of 24,346 TEUs.

MSC Irina embarked on its inaugural voyage from Qingdao Port in Shandong province on March 23 and arrived at Ningbo Zhoushan Port in Zhejiang province on April 2. Merchandise such as smart home appliances, furniture, textiles, and solar energy devices are expected to be loaded onto the ship at the Chuanshan port area in Ningbo and exported to Europe.

To ensure the smooth docking of the super ship, Ningbo Customs has made the whole declaration process paperless.
