Cooperation between Ningbo, Zhejiang province and Central and Eastern European countries (CEEC) has expanded from just trade to more areas, including technology and talent communication.
The China (Ningbo Yuyao) – CEEC Industrial Cooperation Forum was held in Budapest, Hungary on April 20, and the Ningbo CEEC (Budapest) Innovation Center was launched at the forum.
"Established in Yuyao, the Ningbo CEEC Innovation Center serves to introduce advanced technologies from CEEC into China and help Chinese companies tap markets in CEEC," said Zhang Mingming, general manager of the Ningbo CEEC Innovation Center, who attended the forum in Budapest, "CEEC have developed advanced technologies in terms of biomedicine, information, and optical and precision instruments. With a great investment environment, China has provided fertile soil for the development of cooperation with the countries."
According to Zhang, the two innovation centers in Yuyao and Budapest will better promote cooperation between China and CEEC.
Ningbo also launched a competition in March targeted at young technological talent in CEEC – the First China-CEEC Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. The competition was divided into three categories – digital innovation, biomedicine and healthcare, and advanced materials. Winners stand to win 80,000 yuan ($11,545). The competition organizer has received more than 100 entries from 14 countries.
