Haishu district in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, is currently building child-friendly facilities across the area.

Since the second half of 2022, the women's federation of Haishu district has been building special spaces serving children in villages.

In Maoxin village in Gulin town, facilities such as a service station, mother-and-baby rooms, a psychological counseling room, and a playground have been built and will serve more than 20,000 children in Gulin. Cultural experience spaces, such as a digital farm and a space station model, are also popular among families with children.

The local women's federation also launched five travel routes for family trips. The routes feature various different themes, such as gardening, science and technology, reading, traditional Chinese medicine, and Red education.

"15-minute child-friendly service circles" were also formed in Haishu. The "circles" are meant to ensure children have access to amenities for education and recreation within a 15-minute walk.

Three residential communities in Haishu - Shuyue, Qingfeng, and Dongqiao – made the list of Children-friendly Communities in Ningbo.  

"We are exploring more methods to make the city more child-friendly," said an official of the Haishu District Women's Federation.
