An art festival showcasing a harmonious blend of culture and tradition commenced in Zoumatang village, Jiangshan town, Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 8.

With a rich history spanning four dynasties – Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing – Zoumatang has rightfully earned the esteemed title of "China's No 1 Village of Jinshi". This is due to its remarkable contribution of nurturing a total of 76 jinshi, a term referring to a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations.

Scheduled to run until Aug 27, the art festival will be divided into three captivating chapters – drama, art, and lifestyle. This enthralling event promises a wide range of cultural activities, including boat parades, garden parties, a photography contest, and a music festival set against the backdrop of picturesque rice fields.

Notably, Zoumatang unveiled its distinctive local theater identity image and introduced an innovative cultural and tourism service app during the opening ceremony. In addition, the ceremonious event featured the unveiling of exquisitely-designed jinshi robes.
