Yao Dingming, a 14-year-old student in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, has been promoting the city's landscape through aerial videos for three years.

In 2020, inspired by Aerial China, a Chinese aerial video documentary, Yao decided to use aerial videos to share the beauty of Ningbo to more people. Since then, he has been learning aerial photography and video editing on his own.

He also opened an account entitled "Hang Pai Ningbo (translated 'Aerial Ningbo')" at social media platforms including Douyin and WeChat, and has been sharing his videos. Over the past three years, his videos have garnered over 10 million views at the Douyin platform.

"We don't know much about photography. But we are happy for his increasing popularity among netizens," said Yao's mother.

Yao also spent a year working on an English promotion video for Ningbo. "It took me hundreds of hours editing," he said.

"My English is not so good. I asked my classmates to help me dealing with the subtitles," Yao recalled the creation of the video, "I want to present a high-tech Ningbo in celebration of the upcoming Asian Games.”
