As the 19th Asian Games Village opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Sept 16, the sub-village for the Games in Ningbo welcomed 200 delegates from 20 countries and regions on the same day.
During the Games, the Ningbo facilities are expected to serve nearly 400 people from 25 Asian countries and regions.
Shi Jianding, deputy commander of the Ningbo sub-village, said that the village will provide various services, including catering and accommodation, around the clock.
In addition to an all-day service center, an infirmary, self-service laundry, fitness centers, and swimming pools, the village is equipped with two athlete dining halls that offer more than 600 dishes and special orders for birthday celebrations.
"To support athletes' stays in the village, we've opened stores, supermarkets, self-service banks, and barber shops. An exhibition featuring Ningbo's intangible cultural heritage items and a cultural space have also been set up in the village," Shi added.
Chung Pei Ming, leader of the Singapore sailing team, was among the first delegates to check in to the Ningbo sub-village. He said that the village has a great environment and nice amenities covering catering, accommodation and transportation.
