The 2023 Ningbo Agricultural Expo, which will run for four days, commenced at the Ningbo International Conference and Exhibition Center in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Dec 28.

This marks the first time that the city has hosted an agricultural expo. Covering an exhibition area of nearly 20,000 square meters, the expo includes three exhibition halls showcasing more than 5,000 products from over 400 exhibitors around the country.

According to Lu Xiulong, an official of the Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, this year's event features diverse varieties of agricultural products, including geographical indication agricultural products, green foods, and branded produce such as Red Beauty citrus, taro, pickled mustard, and yellow croaker.

Forty local food shops also attend the expo, offering traditional Ningbo snacks such as niangao and tangyuan.

Activities such as selections of the most popular produce and raffles will be held during the event.

"We want to stimulate consumer demand, facilitate the connection between agricultural production and sales, and boost farmers' incomes through the expo," Lu said.
