Ningbo unveils comprehensive Spring Festival benefits package
The government of Ningbo announced a comprehensive set of measures aimed at enhancing the Spring Festival experience for local residents during a press briefing on Feb 4.
To support vulnerable populations, the local government has allocated approximately 70 million yuan ($9.73 million) to assist low-income families, severely impoverished workers, severely disabled individuals living in poverty, families with social assistance certificates, orphans, and others facing extreme hardships. This financial aid is slated for distribution before the onset of the Spring Festival.
Anticipating a historic inter-regional passenger flow exceeding 81 million during the holiday, the local transportation authority has introduced a range of initiatives to streamline travel. Notable measures include the addition of 27 temporary trains servicing popular destinations such as Chongqing, Chengdu, and Fuyang, as well as the launch of new flight routes to destinations including Xiannvshan and Xiangxi and Ankang. Increased flight frequency to cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Changchun is also set to help accommodate the surge in passenger volume.
In addition, the city will inject 60 million yuan worth of consumer vouchers into the local economy, with nearly 10,000 companies participating in the consumption stimulation campaign.
Ningbo will also host 27 high-quality series exhibitions and over 100 traditional cultural experience activities. Before Feb 29, cultural and tourism consumption vouchers worth 11 million yuan will be distributed, covering a wide array of amenities, including star-rated hotels, graded homestays, A-level scenic spots, and performing arts projects.
In the event of consumer disputes during the Spring Festival, citizens and tourists will have access to assistance through various channels, including the 12345/12315 government service hotline, official platforms, and apps. All levels of the city's market supervision departments are committed to handling cases in accordance with the law and regulations.
Furthermore, the government has pledged to fully support the employment needs of individuals and companies before and after the Spring Festival. More than 200 recruitment activities are scheduled to take place, with the initiative expected to extend until the end of March.
