Ningbo is set to dazzle with a rich tapestry of activities in celebration of the upcoming Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb 24 this year.

One of the main attractions is a Lantern Festival-themed light show set to unfold at Sanjiangkou, a bustling commercial hub in downtown Ningbo. This visual extravaganza promises to immerse local residents in a celebration of cultural heritage.

Scheduled to be staged from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Feb 24 and 25, the display will depict the shared joy of familial togetherness amidst the vibrant night, and whimsically portray dazzling fireworks, majestic soaring dragons, and tangyuan, a sweet dumpling symbolizing reunion.

To infuse the Lantern Festival with a lively spirit, county-level areas such as Zhenhai, Beilun, Yinzhou, Fenghua, and Xiangshan will also participate in the coordinated light show, adding vibrancy to the entire night of celebration.

The Lantern Festival, also known as Yuanxiao Festival, is a Chinese tradition observed on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunar calendar, symbolizing the conclusion of the Spring Festival.
