The curtains closed on the 2024 Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo, Zhejiang province on April 14 after a thrilling final showdown. 

With Chinese athletes competing across all five categories, the Chinese badminton team emerged triumphant, securing gold medals in the women's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles events. Local athlete Wang Chang, partnered with Liang Weikeng, captured the spotlight by clinching victory in the men's doubles final.

The action-packed day commenced with the women's singles final, where Chinese player Wang Zhiyi outshined Tokyo Olympic champion Chen Yufei in straight sets to claim the gold medal.

In the men's doubles final, world-ranked third pair Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang faced Malaysia's Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin, emerging victorious with a hard-fought 21-17, 15-21, 21-10 win, much to the joy of local fans.

The women's doubles final saw Chinese pair Zhang Shuxian and Zheng Yu facing off against Korea's Baek Ha-na and Lee So-hee. Despite a valiant effort, the Chinese duo settled for silver with scores of 21-23, 12-21.

In the men's singles final, Indonesian player Jonatan Christie earned him the championship title with a 21-15, 21-16 victory, leaving Chinese player Li Shifeng with the silver medal.

The mixed doubles final witnessed an intense showdown between the world champions Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jung of South Korea and the Chinese pair of Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping. Despite losing the first set, Feng and Huang staged a remarkable comeback to claim victory with scores of 13-21, 21-15, 21-14, clinching the gold medal.
