Ningbo Open offers lucrative rewards following elevation to WTA500

The Ningbo Open was recently promoted from WTA250 to WTA500 status, promising players a substantial boost in rewards through increased points and prize money.

After the elevation, this year's tournament will comprise a main singles draw featuring 28 players, a 24-player qualifying draw, and a 16-team doubles event. The singles champion is poised to take home $142,000 in prize money alongside 500 ranking points, while the runner-up will earn $87,655 and 325 points. The total prize pool for the tournament stands at $922,573.

Semifinalists will be duly rewarded with $51,205 and 195 points each, while quarterfinalists will receive $24,910 and 108 points. Even players exiting in the second round, the round of 16, will walk away with $13,590 and 60 points. Those departing in the first round will still secure $9,820 and 1 point, while participants in the qualifying draw will also receive corresponding prize money and points.

In the doubles category, the triumphant pair will celebrate their victory with $47,390 and 500 points.

Registration for the Ningbo Open is now officially open, sparking keen interest from a plethora of top-ranked players who are closely monitoring the unfolding competition. Chinese tennis luminaries are also gearing up to showcase their prowess on their native soil.

Tickets for the event are scheduled to go up for sale on Sept 14 at 10:00 am and will be available for purchase through domestic ticketing platforms such as Damai, Maoyan, Piaoxingqiu, and Fenwandao.
