Bridging cultures: A designer's journey in Ningbo

For Cuban industrial designer Gabriela Sanchez, Ningbo, Zhejiang province, has become more than just a place to study — it's a source of cultural discovery.

While pursuing industrial design at Zhejiang University Ningbo campus, she encountered Chinese intangible cultural heritage in local communities, expanding her understanding beyond mechanical design. 

As an international volunteer, Sanchez participated in cultural events, strengthening her connection with the city. These experiences deepened her appreciation for Asian culture, making Ningbo feel like home.
