The 2019 Ningbo International Tourism Exhibition is scheduled to be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, from Aug 30 to Sept 1, according to the local tourism department.

The exhibition will focus on displaying cultural and tourist items from countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative to promote BRI cooperation, organizers said, adding that more than 30 countries will attend the exhibition, which will cover an area of 18,000 square meters.

In addition, domestic tourist agencies will introduce their tourist routes to BRI countries, and China Eastern Airlines will offer discount air tickets at the exhibition.

A regional cooperation exhibition zone will also be available to promote integrated tourism in the Yangtze River Delta region.

Ningbo boasts a booming tourism industry, with more than 160 scenic spots, six tourism resorts at provincial and national levels, and 418 tourist agencies. It received over 100 million tourists in 2017 and generated revenue of nearly 171.6 billion yuan ($24.95 billion).

The city has been committed to promoting tourism cooperation with BRI countries and regions in recent years.

It has been holding the annual China-Central and Eastern European Countries Tourism Cooperation activity since 2014, and introduced the Nice Carnival last year, bolstering friendship between China, France and all of Europe, and enhancing Ningbo's image in the global tourism market.
