From concerts and exhibitions to nighttime fairs and fashion shows, a total of 158 activities launched by scenic spots in Ningbo are slated to be staged during the upcoming May Day holiday from May 1 to 5.

In addition, preferential policies including free admission to some scenic spots and discounts will be offered by the city during the holiday.

For example, tourists that win honorary titles conferred by the government, such as model workers and advanced workers, above the district level will be exempt from admission fees to the Zhaobaoshan scenic spot in Zhenhai district.

In May, scenic spots such as Qiantong Ancient Town, Lianghuang Mountain, and Hengshan Island will also open to visitors for free after they show bullet train tickets, with Ninghai county as the terminal station.

Those born from May 1 to 5 can also enjoy free admission to Shipu Fishery Port Ancient Town, China Marine Fishery Culture Museum, and Tantoushan Island.

Free Face masks will be offered at the city's airport, railway stations, and some subway station.

Recently, local authorities also released 10 recommended Red tourism routes, with destinations including the Old Site of the East Zhejiang Base for Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the Zhang Renya Academy. One of the CPC's earliest members, Zhang is known for safeguarding the Party's early documents.

More than 200 million trips are expected to be made in China during the five-day holiday. Many scenic spots are expected to receive more visitors than they did during the same period in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Ctrip, a domestic online travel agent.
