Ningbo's road network stretches 5,506 km in length, including 184 km of expressways and 3,553 km of national and provincial highways. The highway density is 56 km per 100 sq km. Springing from its harbors, Ningbo’s roadways radiate outwards in all directions toward other cities and towns forming a large traffic network. 

Ningbo’s main highways include the national highway No 329, which links Hangzhou and Zhoushan, the provincial highway No 34, which runs across Taizhou and Wenzhou, as well as provincial highway No 36, which runs through Shaoxin and Jinhua.
