Festival highlights culture and creation
A dazzling array of exquisite handicrafts shined at a bazaar in Qiantong town, Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province on Aug 7.
The bazaar comes as part of the inaugural Qiqiao Festival held in the ancient town.
The Qixi Festival or Chinese Valentine's Day, is also known as Qiqiao Festival. It's the seventh day of the seventh month of the lunar calendar, which falls on Aug 7 this year.
Chen Long, a local artist said hosting such an event aims to call for more public attention to traditional festivals.
In recent years, Qiantong town highly values the development of culture and creation industry. To date, the town has accommodated 39 cultural and creative companies as well as workshops specializing in the fields such as bamboo weaving, wood carving and embroidery.
