Beilun district

Location: Beilun is the largest district in Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province 

GDP: 196.14 billion yuan (2019) 

Permanent residents: 400,000 (2019) 

Area: Land: 615 square kilometers; Sea: 258 square kilometers 

Economy:

Beilun district is most famous for Beilun Port, the district's deep-water port. The district has five national level development zones—the Ningbo Economic & Technical Development Zone, the Ningbo Free Trade Zone, the Daxie Island Development Zone, the Ningbo Export Processing Zone, and the Meishan Bonded Port Zone.

Beilun's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 6.6 percent year-on-year to 196.14 billion yuan ($28.42 billion) in 2019, according to a government report. 

Last year, its fiscal revenue surged 7.8 percent year-on-year to 62.18 billion yuan, exceeding 60 billion for the first time. 

The per capita disposable income of local residents in the district stood at 59,656 yuan, up 8.2 percent year-on-year. 

Administrative divisions: 

Beilun governs 11 sub-districts —Xinqi sub-district, Xiaogang sub-district, Daqi sub-district, Xiapu sub-district, Chaiqiao sub-district, Qijiashan sub-district, Daxie sub-district, Baifeng sub-district, Chunxiao sub-district, Meishan sub-district, and Guoju sub-district.

Laurels: 

In December 2017, Beilun was listed among the top 100 districts nationwide in terms of industrial development;

In November 2019, the district was designated as the national demonstration area for ecological civilization.
