The city of Ningbo, East China's Zhejiang province, recently released a list of its 20 private enterprises with the strongest global operations in 2020.

These companies, which are involved in automobiles, textiles and clothing, equipment manufacturing, and household appliances, were recognized by the municipal government for integrating themselves into global industrial and supply chains last year.

The list was based on a comprehensive assessment of private firms' international business operations, including their overseas assets, revenue, numbers of foreign employees, and more.

Official data showed that in 2019, the 20 companies' total overseas assets were valued at $13.31 billion, and the revenues of their overseas businesses surpassed $15.49 billion. They exported $1.47 billion in goods and imported $2.23 billion in goods.

An official from the city's commerce bureau said that this was a result of Ningbo's efforts to integrate and allocate global resources, expand into international markets, and develop advanced technologies to enhance their core competitiveness.
